In 1928, Juan Torres Casals, second generation of Familia Torres, began the development of vintage brandy aged in oak from the best white wine of Penedès (Barcelona), picking up on the humanistic legacy of Arnau de Vilanova, a 14th century doctor and theologian. The work of Juan Torres was soon recognized, and his brandies became synonymous with quality.
